The Refresh Button is a newsletter for neurodivergents about my autism, queerness, neurodiversity, inclusive language, mental health, work, and this beautiful chaos that my life is. I'll always write from my point of view but will provide you with references, tools, and resources.
Hello! Long time no see. Burnedout Renata is back on track! At least for now. Today I’m posting another newsletter, on having recently found out I’m autistic, so make sure to check your inbox or in-app notifications.
I’ve compiled for y’all a list of resources to help autistic and neurodivergent adults get the support needed. You may be going through a rough patch in whatever area, and you deserve to be understood fully and with no hiccups. I do know most people can’t afford many of the resources I’ll list here, but you’ll find some of them are free (only requiring an Internet connection, that is).
Please note many of the links I refer are not to health professional services. And I haven’t hired any of the health professionals from the list. I’m simply recommending their websites. However, many neurodivergents can’t access healthcare, so hopefully, this list has something for everyone. Many resources were created by neurodivergents. And I think that’s just as valid as resources created by healthcare peeps. Just a different perspective, that’s all. Let’s go!

Books and Substacks
Charlie’s book list is amazing! The last time I checked it contained books on ADHD and autism. I haven’t finished reading any books on neurodivergence so far, so I’m not including them in this list for now.
Finally, I follow tons of Substacks by other neurodivergents and autistics. You can see them on my profile.
The Refresh Button is free to read, but you can help this autistic translator by becoming a paid subscriber. I’m a full-time freelance translator, and being a freelancer involves many financial ups and downs. So, it'd be incredible if you’d like to help me make a living as a creative! Thank you for reading! See you next week. Love, Renata.
